Copenhagen was born and grew up on the waterside and flames have formed the city through two great city fires, one bombardment and two fires on Christiansborg Palace.

On this city walk we will take a closer look at the oldest part of the city - on the waterside - we will explore the area near Gammel Strand, the old beach, and Slotsholmen, the castle islet, and hear about sailors and firefighters, kings and urban development, customs and practices, beer and wine.
