Ellen Marsvin, the Danish Robin Hood in Nørlund

Ellen Marsvin was the mother of Kirsten Munk who officially was king Christian IV's mistress. On a trip to Ellen Marsvin's estate in Nørlund, we will visit Nørlund Castle, where I will reveal whether we have really had robbers around here.

I will explain how the estate and the area around Nørlund have developed through time until now. To get the best experiens and understanding of Nørlund estate we make a visit to Nørlund sawmill as well. Here we will look at the significance of the sawmill and the estate and the impact on the development of the area.

I will spice up the visit with stories about the locals and about the community that has lived on the estate as well as its employees. Including the significance the big world has had on the Nørlund estate.

The trip is told based on my own experiences as I was born in this area.

The trip starts at McDonalds near Haverslev. We go to Nørlund Castle, Nørlund sawmill and to Ladelund before heading back to McDonalds in Haverslev.
