The tour begins with a scenic drive along Esbjerg’s southern coastline, passing through the unique landscape of the Wadden Sea National Park. Along the way, you will gain insight into why Esbjerg is recognized as one of the world’s leading energy metropolises, with a strong focus on offshore and renewable energy. You will also experience the raw and distinctive nature of the Wadden Sea and visit the South Harbour, where you will learn about the city’s transformation from a traditional fishing port into a modern commercial hub.
A short photo stop will be made at Esbjerg’s iconic landmark, the Man Meets the Sea, an impressive monument overlooking the coastline.
The tour concludes with a visit to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, featuring large aquariums and an outdoor seal enclosure. Guests may have the opportunity to attend a seal feeding at 11:00 (subject to season).
The museum also offers engaging exhibitions on fisheries, navigation, and offshore industries, as well as open-air displays including historic vessels, workshops, a Second World War bunker, and a fully equipped lifesaving station.
