City sightseeing tour of Esbjerg - 3 hrs (08:30-11:30)
The tour goes through Esbjerg city passing such sights as the Performing Arts Centre designed by the famous Danish architect Jørn Utzon (architect of the Sydney Opera House). A short stop at Esbjerg's landmark, the monumental sculpture "Man meets the Sea" by the Danish artist Svend Wiig Hansen. On to visit Sædden Church, a modern church with links to the old Romanesque tradition and has a very beautiful starry vault of freely hanging lights.
Finally a visit to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum with large aquaries and seal enclosure. A seal feeding will be attended (11:00 -subject to season). The museum also shows exhibitions on fisheries, navigation and offshore activities as well as open air displays with ships, workshops, a bunker from the Second World War, a fully equipped life saving station etc.
On to visit Sædden Church, a modern church with links to the old Romanesque tradition and has a very beautiful starry vault of freely hanging lights.
