Guide and Historian in Southern Denmark, Søren

I love telling a good story and showing visitors what makes a town or region special. With me as your guide, you get an engaging storyteller who is curious about both the past and life in Denmark today.

I am a historian with more than ten years of experience in museums and visitor attractions. My work has focused particularly on the history of southern Denmark and the west coast of Jutland. As a museum educator and guide at various museums and attractions, I have shared history with a wide range of audiences. I have also researched and written about the history of several towns in southern Denmark. Today, I work in historical research and public engagement, and I greatly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

I specialise in twentieth-century history, but I am happy to explore the whole of Danish history – from the Stone Age to the present day. I am also interested in Danish society and in the connections between past and present.

On my tours, I focus on what gives each town or area its distinctive character: the architecture, its development, the surrounding countryside and the stories of the people who have lived and worked there. I also love exploring nature and finding those special places that deserve a visit.

I have extensive experience communicating with different audiences and adapt both the content and my storytelling to your group. If you have particular interests or requests, I am happy to build on them - and there is always room for questions along the way.
