Vorbasse - Northern Europe's oldest village

Vorbasse Market has taken place since the 13th century. However, the current market only counts its history from the 18th century. I also talk about Vorbasse Krigshavn (naval harbour) and the importance of the market for the local Krigshavn (naval harbour).

Vorbasse has been a village since the Iron Age and is only 15 km south of Billund. On the guided tour, I talk about the transition from the Viking Age to Christianity, just as I talk about the Catholic Church's marketing through holy springs and the importance of the Hærvej for the area.

In the 1980s, Vorbasse was the center of some of Northern Europe's largest archaeological excavations. I tell their story and what the results showed. To this day, universities across Europe teach about the excavations and their results.
