This guided tour begins and ends at Storms Pakhus and focuses on the many fascinating sites within a short distance from this modern hub for street food and social life in Odense.
Discover how water has become an integral part of the city's new identity and development. We'll share the story of Havnebadet, Odense's stylish and much-loved pool that has become a defining symbol of the city's revived waterside life. Here, Odense's maritime heritage meets modern water sports and creative leisure experiences. The city's famous industrial magnate lends his name to C.F. Tietgen's Canal, one of Odense's graceful waterways linking the harbour with the city centre.
Street art also plays an important role in the harbour district. We'll explore some striking works alongside examples of innovative architecture and sustainable design initiatives – all reflecting the many opportunities that make Odense a city in constant change.
The guided tour includes a drink token, which can be redeemed at Storms Pakhus – where Odense's maritime past meets its vibrant modern urban culture inside the characterful old warehouse with a variety of food from all over the world. A popular street food hub amongst Odenseans.

Kolding, the Old Border Town
The medieval castle of Koldinghus located on the hill by the lake, is welcoming travellers to the Kingdom of Denmark. Kolding was the gateway to Denmark from the south until the war in 1864.
The castle was burned down in 1808, after which the ruin was used as a quarry until Hans Christian Andersen passed by.
The castle was renovated in the late 1900s. Today the ruins are preserved within the new stunning architectural design. The palace is the major attraction in Kolding, but the rest of the medieval city also has some remarkable stories such as the war in 1849 between 50.000 Prussian soldiers and 40.000 Danish soldiers and the border crossing over the Kolding river to the duchies to the south.
Recent stories like that of the renowned baker, Bertram Knudsen: "it is all about the butter", and Chresten Berg, who started the liberal newspapers in Denmark, are also stories to be revealed on a guided walk in Kolding.

Copenhagen's oldest active cemeteries
Holmen's and Garnison's emeteries in Copenhagen.
Holmen's and Garnison's cemeteries are located close to Østerport Station and they're the oldest active cemeteries in Copenhagen – respectively from 1666 and 1671. Originally they were dedicated to the military and navy, serving as place of rest many an admiral and general. Even regular soldiers are buried here – and it might be a bit overwhelming, but these cemeteries are also home to several mass graves from the Battle of Copenhagen (1801) and the war of 1864.
But there isn't just war graves here. Many known politicians, musicians and actors lie peacefully in these flower-covered cemeteries.
The chapels also boast of a lot of history. The somewhat humble chapel at Garnison's contains a dark history related to Nazi Germany. Holmen's chapel was originally a Norwegian stave church!
The cemeteries can be visited individually or in combination, since they're located at very short distance from each other. The walk is amazingly beautiful, since these cemeteries are park-like areas with large trees and ample benches.

A Journey Through the History of Copenhagen
From a medieval fishing village to a modern capital – history, hidden details and local perspectives.
Copenhagen is much more than beautiful buildings and famous landmarks. Its history is hidden in the streets, squares and small details that most visitors pass without noticing.
We begin at the statue of Absalon, the bishop and statesman who helped transform a small harbour settlement into the Danish capital. From there, we explore the historic city centre and hear stories of kings, merchants, students and ordinary Copenhageners who shaped the city over the centuries.
Along the way, we climb the Round Tower, King Christian IV’s remarkable observatory and one of the most iconic landmarks from Copenhagen’s golden age of growth and learning.
The tour ends at Torvehallerne, Copenhagen's modern food market, where the city's long traditions of trade, food and social life continue today. Here we round off the experience with a traditional Danish pastry or an ice cream, depending on the weather, and a chance to chat about the stories and places we have explored together.
This walking tour is particularly well suited to small groups looking for a relaxed and personal experience with plenty of opportunities for questions, conversation and local insights.
