Bornholm - City Walk in Hasle

On this city walk in Hasle, I'll tell you exactly what makes Hasle so attractive and why it's known as a a place you move to, not away from.

Amongst other things, I'll guide you to the old Town Hall and Church in Hasle, after which we'll walk in a historical rebellion's footsteps: the series of rebellions in 1658 that caused Bornholm's liberation from the Swedes.

Jens Koefoed, a merchant and military man from Hasle, priest of Rutsker Parish Poul Anker from Øster Hoby in Scania and the mayor of Hasle, Peder Olsen. These men are among the most famous from this town and all have given their names to ferries servicing Bornholm.

I'll also tell you about a bakers' son from Hasle, royal chamber singer (a distinguished opera singer) Vilhelm Herold, who didn't only achieve fame in Denmark but worldwide.

Along the way we'll see several interesting buildings and locations that have had great importance for Hasle, such as newly built areas and the possibilities for even more development.

"It's hard to be angry.", is the city's motto.
