Guided tour of Esbjerg - why and when

The city that prospers because of the blue gold

Esbjerg is the youngest city in Denmark and from its position it gives us a fascinating story about defeat, wars, sailing, fishing and shipping. It tells us about the aftermath of the war in 1864 and how Esbjerg became one of the largest ports in Denmark but employs the fewest people.

On a guided tour of Esbjerg includes the story of the port and its significance for the city. From the central Esbjerg Water Tower you have a magnificent view of Denmark's largest port and the offshore activities.

We walk the central streets of Esbjerg while I reveal Esbjergs historical secrets.

We can include a tour in the city's big garden, the famous Vognsbøl Park where you can enjoy bird watching and deers as well as incorporate a visit to the city's signature: The statue of the 4 White Men by Sven Wiig Hansen and pay a visit to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum.

If you want to visit the city centre, Vognsbøl Parken, the 4 White Men and the Fisheries and Maritimes Museum, you will need either a car, bike or public transport and plan for 4 hours.

A walking tour in the city centre lasts 1 hour.
