About me
I grew up in Florence and New York City, and have lived in Aarhus for over a decade; I speak English, Italian, and Danish. When I was seven I decided it might be interesting to live in Denmark someday, and when I first saw Aarhus, something about its architecture and scale spoke to me.
I’m the child of artists, and have a very eclectic background that includes the study of art, photography, architecture, teaching, and massage, and am licensed as a tour leader in Italy.
I enjoy revisiting and discovering new things in places I know well, learning the ins and outs of new places, and sharing this joy of discovery and rediscovery with others.
I have a particular affection for, and knowledge of Aarhus and the area surrounding it, and for North Jutland, the first region of Denmark I was introduced to: These areas have rich histories, and some of Denmark’s most breathtaking landscapes and sites.
Like Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, I have the perpetual urge to "run and find out", whether it's about the history behind an odd relief on a facade, or about the unique offerings of a city's oldest pharmacy, and have a strong interest in the way landscape and climate form culture.
I bring that something extra and unexpected to the list of things on a planned trip, and dig deep to find the human stories that make both the well-known sites and little-known points of interest continue to live today.
I enjoy working closely with groups, especially small ones, and customizing tours to specific interests and wishes.
