Experience the New District of Aarhus and the Harbour
Experience Aarhus Ø which is a new district that has grown from zero to 12,000 residents since 2012.
Builders and architects have chosen to build new and exciting architecture.
There is a harbour pool, a water ski course and a sailing centre. We will be able to see the forest, the sea and the bay with the peninsula Mols in the distance. With luck we can see porpoises frolicking.
There may be an opportunity to get to the top of the 142 m tall "Lighthouse".
Fifty years ago there was water where Aarhus Ø now lies. Since then there has been a container port, and when it moved south, there was room for the new district Aarhus Ø which means Aarhus island.
On the guided tour you will be able to see how the harbour has been developed. If you wish, you can also get a story about the port's role in Aarhus' development and about the conditions for the old dock workers.
