Walking tour in Skagen

In Skagen, I can offer you an unforgettable walking tour by combining the town's history, culture, and unique nature.

At the Skagen Museum, the history centers on the many fascinating artists who lived in Skagen at the end of the 19th century, and naturally, we will also visit the painter Michael Anchers House during the tour.

Skagen Church is the replacement for the sand-buried church and dates from 1841. The church was closely connected to life in Skagen and served as a natural gathering place for fishermen, residents, and artists alike. I will, of course, share that history with you. Afterwards, we will see the town hall, with its beautiful architectural details in the building that has held the soul of the town from when Skagen was a small fishing village to its current status as a cultural town with an international reputation.

We'll continue to the fishing harbour and the marina, where I'll talk about Skagen as Denmark's largest fishing port in the past and its role today. We'll pass several notable buildings in Skagen, such as the Skagen Fish Restaurant and Brøndums Hotel, before the tour concludes in Østerby, where the fishermen lived, and we'll look out towards the Vippefyret, the lighthouse.
