Gothenburg: Where History Meets Charm

Gothenburg is an old trading and port city that today boasts a very vibrant cultural life, numerous museums, historic buildings, beautiful parks, and bustling markets.

Join me on a classic historical walking tour, where we will explore Gothenburg's history from its founding in 1621 by King Gustav II Adolf, through the following 400 years up to the present day.

Along the way, we will pass and talk about Drottningtorget, Kungsparken, the Cathedral, the charming old district of Haga, the famous fish market Feskekôrka, and the historic fortress Skansen Kronan with its lookout tower.

I will provide an introduction to Gothenburg's economic profile over the past 400 years, as well as how the city has developed over the centuries in parallel with the political currents of Northern Europe. I will also cover Gothenburg's cultural life, and we will conclude the tour at one of the city's many lovely cafés or restaurants, depending on the group's preference.
