Guide and Historian on Funen, Søren
About me
I love telling a good story and showing visitors what makes a town or region special. With me as your guide, you get an engaging storyteller who is curious about both the past and life in Denmark today.
I am a historian with more than ten years of experience in museums and visitor attractions. I work in Odense and have researched and written about the history of Funen. Born and raised in the area around the Little Belt, I have always loved Funen’s natural beauty, picturesque towns and distinctive history. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with others, bringing history to life through stories about places and the people who have shaped them.
I specialise in twentieth-century history, but I am happy to explore the whole of Danish history - from the Stone Age to the present day. I am also interested in Danish society and in the connections between past and present.
On my tours, I focus on what gives each town or area its distinctive character: the architecture, its development, the surrounding countryside and the stories of the people who have lived and worked there. I also love exploring nature and finding those special places that deserve a visit.
I have extensive experience communicating with different audiences and adapt both the content and my storytelling to your group. If you have particular interests or requests, I am happy to build on them - and there is always room for questions along the way.
