Kolding: Eel and fish mongering

A city tour highlighting the industrial adventures of the past. Kolding was big on fish and eel exports from approximately 1880 to 1980.  

We will start the tour at the harbor, the former headquarters of the major fish and eel exporters. You will see how the location was ideal for landing and storing large quantities of eel caught in the Baltic Sea.  

From the harbor we will make our way along the stream to the city centre, where only a few traces of the glorious maritime past remain. Kolding's development and growth will be emphasised with a few stops along the busiest streets.  

We will then come back to the station, or part ways in front of Koldinghus, where more of Kolding's historical royal ties can be explored.
