Copenhagen, a city with lots of towers

Join me on a city walk in Copenhagen where you will see the beautiful city with the many towers. Let's meet at the stairs of the Copenhagen University in the centre of town.

You will learn bits and pieces about famous people who lived in the area in the part of the city named "the Latin quarter".

We will take a look inside the old university building, Vor Frue Plads, the square of Our Lady named after the cathedral. We'll visit the cathedral that holds the sculptures of Thorvaldsen and the residential home of the bishop.

We continue to the oldest square of the city with the famous Caritas fountain. We stroll through the narrow lanes and pass by the house where the founder of Carlsberg, brewer Jacobsen was born and where he started his production.

We walk on to the canal and look towards Christiansborg with the parliament. We enjoy the sight of all the towers and you'll get to know the city's history through what we see.

Our city walk leads us to Højbro Square and through the pedestrian street to the Kings New Square, we pass the Royal Theatre and continue to Nyhavn, the new harbour, where we look at the old ships and where Hans Christian Andersen lived.

We walk around in the area called Frederik's City and pass the royal residens Amalienborg, and Amaliehaven the garden by the royal palace and towards the famous street Langelinie and the fountain of Gefion through the Kastellet the military defence built by Christian IV. We finish by the Little Mermaid.
