Family friendly Haarlem
We meet at Kruisbrug, near the old city gate. Now we have to use our imaginations to see beyond what is immediately visible to the naked eye. We walk through the city towards the main market square and St. Bavo's Church.
Everywhere we look, there are old buildings steeped in history and myth. Together, we will discover what people did and what kind of work took place here in days gone by.
If we need a break, we will take one. The children can play for a while, and the adults can learn more about the area where we have decided to stop - accompanied, of course, by a cup of coffee and a small treat, just as is customary in the Netherlands.
A family holiday calls for flexibility, and that is the guiding principle behind this walking tour. We will experience many of Haarlem's highlights, and I am always open to adjusting our plans along the way if the need arises.
