Kolding's Dark Side
Behind Kolding's streets and buildings lie stories of disease, fear and crime. Join a guided walk through the town's darker history, from the Middle Ages to more recent times.
Along the way, you will hear about deadly epidemics that swept through the town and a time when superstition was part of everyday life. We explore local myths and legends, as well as Kolding's witch trials, when suspicion and accusations could have devastating consequences for those singled out.
We also follow the traces of murder, fraud and other crimes. These local stories bring us closer to the people involved and offer an insight into changing attitudes towards guilt, punishment and justice.
The guided tour can take place in daylight, but join me after dark for an especially atmospheric walk through the town's streets.
