Vejle: The Harbour and its modern skyline
Vejle was always a city on the water, as you will see clearly from this visit to its newest neighborhood, wedged between the railroad tracks and the Fjord.
The whole neighbourhood has been constructed as part of the city’s efforts to accommodate rising water levels and increased risk of flooding brought about by climate change.
We will take a stroll on the harbour, taking a look at businesses and residential areas, plus enjoy the architecture in a high-profile housing project.
Our stroll will also take us to Fjordenhus, the House on the Fjord, which serves as an office building as well as a work of art. As you take in the stunning views, I will provide information about this unique building and its origins, intertwined with a local and world-famous company.
This is indeed where the city meets the water.
