Christiansfeld - Danish World Heritage

A town built over 10 years at a field between Kolding and Haderslev. A small religious community with skilled craftsmen and artisans. A mad king and a German doctor, who could see the opportunities in developing this area of the Duchy of Schleswig.

One of the best preserved towns in Denmark and part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here you can feel the history while you tour a vibrant town with a congregation founded in 1773, when the town was built. We see the church, church square and the special cemetery.

Christiansfeld has played an important role in the wars with Prussia in the mid-1800s. It is possible to visit the honey cake bakery and there will be stories about Christiansfeld as an old border town in connection with the Danish-German wars in the 1800s.
