Join me on a coach tour to North Zealand and visit the beautiful castles and the palace still lived in by the royal family.

We drive along the coast from Copenhagen, enjoying the Erimitage Castle and I will till you about the castle which has an interesting history.

We continue going north to Helsinor for a visit at Hamlet's castle Kronborg, listed world heritage by UNESCO and a remarkable castle with a unique position by the sea.

We head towards Frederiksborg Castle which is a unique renaissance castle. We visit the palace and the church and may go for a walk in the gardens if time allows.

From Hillerød we pass by Fredensborg palace the summer residens of the royal family, before returning to Copenhagen.

During the tour I will reveal the history of the castles to you and I will do guided tours at the castles.

Aarhus is one of the oldest cities in Denmark, and at the same time a young city in rapid change. This means that Aarhus is packed with good stories, whether you are interested in the vikings, Aarhus in the Middle Ages or the modern city.  

Aarhus is an interesting city also architecturally, and a guided coach tour, is definitely the easiest way to see it in a short time. We will go by the midieval cathedral, the city hall with its unique architecture from the 1930s, the world renowned ARoS Museum of Modern Art, the ever expanding university of Aarhus and her majesty the Queens summer residence, Marselisborg Palace, the famous Old Town open air museum and lots more!

One of the things that people associate the most with Denmark is the ferocious Viking warriors familiar from films and fiction. However truth is often stranger than fiction and this tour will show you who the people known as the Vikings really were and what the truth is that lies behind these stories.

On this tour you will join a guide with huge interest in the Vikings who will take you on a journey through the mythology and lifestyle of these fearsome people.

Start at the National Museum in Copenhagen where some of the most important treasures from the Viking Age are preserved. We then head to the reconstructed Viking village in the west of Copenhagen where you will meet re-enactors and learn how the Vikings lived. From the village we will go to explore the monuments at Lejre, the old royal centre for the Danish Vikings, and the location of the hall of Heorot from the poem Beowulf.

We finish the tour by the shores of Roskilde fjord at the Viking Ship Museum before heading back to Copenhagen.

We start a little outside Nibe at Agricultura school and Manor Lundbæk. At Lundbæk, we will take our starting point in the story of a Vagabond and cripple the "Tordenkalven". About how life unfolded in this area. It is an exciting story that involves both a person, a writer and a sculpture.

We will guide you on a walk in the town of Nibe that holds stories of the harbour and the fiord. From the harbour we will slowly make our way through the town's narrow streets to get an idea of how the town has developed into what it is now. The church in Nibe has a completely different nave than most other churches. A visit to the police station would be an appropriate place to end in the tour. Here we can also experience how dramatic life in Nibe has been at times.

Ellen Marsvin was the mother of Kirsten Munk who officially was king Christian IV's mistress. On a trip to Ellen Marsvin's estate in Nørlund, we will visit Nørlund Castle, where I will reveal whether we have really had robbers around here.

I will explain how the estate and the area around Nørlund have developed through time until now. To get the best experiens and understanding of Nørlund estate we make a visit to Nørlund sawmill as well. Here we will look at the significance of the sawmill and the estate and the impact on the development of the area.

I will spice up the visit with stories about the locals and about the community that has lived on the estate as well as its employees. Including the significance the big world has had on the Nørlund estate.

The trip is told based on my own experiences as I was born in this area.

The trip starts at McDonalds near Haverslev. We go to Nørlund Castle, Nørlund sawmill and to Ladelund before heading back to McDonalds in Haverslev.

The coach tour starts from Aarhus to Billund, the home town of the Lego company, Legoland and Lego House. Learn the faschinating history of the Lego company's humble beginnings in a carpenters shop in Billund to the world covering company we now know.

Legoland offers lots of entertainment for kids of all ages with the Legoland Museum, the park and when food is a request. If you prefer a visit in the Lego House to Legoland that is no problem.

On the way to Legoland I will tell you the fascinating history of LEGO which is at play with the Danish words "leg godt" meaning have fun playing.

Lego is the fascinating story of producing wooden toys in humble beginnings in a carpenters shop in the 1930's Billund to the worldwide multinational Lego company of today with its Star Wars toys.

On our way we will pass some of Lego's factories in Billund, which has become the Lego-town of Denmark with almost everybody working at the Lego factories.

It is no problem to start this tour from other cities than Aarhus just let us know in advance.

For you who are particularly interested in the history of Denmark and the Vikings tihs is the perfect tour.

We can meet in Roskilde or we can go from Copenhagen. We will go west to Roskilde and drive along the fiord, where affluent foragers lived 7000 years ago. From here we shall continue on a detour south of Roskilde to the area of Lejre and make stops at burial mounds from the Danish prehistory covering the Neolithic Period, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, all in all from 6000 to 1200 years ago. I tell you about the things we see, as we drive through the picturesque landscape of the region.

We shall focus on the Vikings and will make stops at the Halls of Lejre and the "skibssætninger", which are stone rows in the shape of ships. Put together, these features make up substantial evidence that important men and women lived and died here.

Coming back to Roskilde, the city that was made the country's first capital by the Vikings, we shall visit the Viking Ship Museum. The museum houses the wrecks of the five ships discovered at the bottom of the fiord in 1957. The ships were deliberately sunk in the late 11th century in order to stop the advance of a hostile Norwegian fleet, and they have now given us some of our most precise knowledge of ship-building and sailing a thousand years ago. Apart from the various Viking craft workshops that are run at the museum grounds there is a shipyard staffed by boat builders who construct new ships using the ancient techniques.

It was in Roskilde that King Harold Bluetooth had the first Christian church of Zealand built in 980 and subsequently claimed to have christened the Danes. That was probably not quite true, as it was customary in the Viking Age to carry the hammer-pendant of the old Norse god Thor. I will tell you about the Viking mythology as well as the use of runes.

Our final destination of the tour will be Roskilde Cathedral, the latest descendant of King Harold's wooden church. The first bricks of the present building were laid in 1170 during the era of Bishop Absalon, but in the course of time it has been gradually extended by still more chapels in order to make space for the marble sarcophagies of the Danish kings and queens. The earliest is that of Queen Margrethe I, who died in 1412, fifteen years after she had united the giant Nordic realm.
