Copenhagen Highlights
A guided tour is one of the best ways to see Copenhagen.
The Little Mermaid is now 100 years old and still forever young. Completed in 1913, this famous statue was made as a tribute to Hans Christian Andersen; the world renowned fairytale writer.
We pass the Gefion Fountain and the Old Citadel built in the 1600s. We visit the Royal Residence, Amalienborg Palace; a beautiful rococco complex, see the beautiful palace, Rosenborg from the outside, pass the Cathedral, and if possible; go inside and see the beautiful statue of Christ by Thorvaldsen.
The power of Denmark is concentrated on the Castle Island, which we also visit and we stroll along the canal of the colourful New Harbour, Nyhavn.

We continue to the oldest square of the city with the famous Caritas fountain. We stroll through the narrow lanes and pass by the house where the founder of Carlsberg, brewer Jacobsen was born and where he started his production.

From muddy fields to the Champions League – around Parken and Danish sports
A city walk in an area central of sports in Copenhagen. The British brought football to Denmark. Fælledparken was where it started. It was a leisure area outside the city, where people went to get away from the noise and dirt in the city centre. Fælledparken is still an important recreational area, but now it is located almost in the centre of the city.
We start our guided tour at Trianglen and the Copenhagen monument for the Reunification in 1920. From here we enter Fælledparken, where we will begin our journey. We will discover some parts of the Copenhagen movement culture. Within a very small area, we will experience both the popular Danish sports culture and the modern sports industry. We will investigate the history of the first football games back in the late 1800s and how it developed from there.
On our way, we maybe meet both running and walking Copenhageners. If we come in the late afternoon or at the weekends, we will meet both young and old football players competing and having fun.
From the popular park we move out into Øster Allé, where a big building meets us. It is the national arena of Denmark, Parken, and the home court of FC København.
On some tours there will be an opportunity to visit Boldklubben Skjold, which is Denmark's largest football club.
On the other side of Parken we will have the opportunity to learn more about Denmark's first athletics stadium, Østerbro Stadium, that just have been renovated. We will pass by Denmark's first public swimming pool, before the walk ends at Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads.

Copenhagen North West: Diversity and rawness
The north-west part of Copenhagen has a tarnished reputation for being like a neighborhood with ethnic tensions. But this district also offers the city's best urban life, the most interesting shops and workshops for the creative industries, because of relatively low rents.
The district contains both an architecture award-winning library, small creative start-up companies and a gourmet restaurant. Once upon a time, the Northwest was a rural neighborhood and a paradise for the working population to escape the gloomy district of Nørrebro. Here you could get light and air in the exemplary architectural design, general,
social residential construction. On this city walk through the district of diversity, I show you how life is lived here, from the first houses were erected on the fields in the early 1900s, to the young vibrant and multi-ethnic Northwest we see today.
