By Bike Around Bogense
This cycling tour starts at the town hall of Bogense. We bike along the coast and witness the overwhelming bird and animal life in the coastal lagoon. We bike through forests, pass the manor houses Gyldensteen and Harritslevgård and I tell you the stories of their importance for the neighbourhood and the town.
Back in Bogense I will give you a guided tour through the narrow streets of the inner town Bogense has a long-standing history which I'll unfold for you. We will find Manneken Pis, a copy of the original sculpture from Bruxelles, which is occasionally dressed up. I will talk to you about the old inn "Erik Menveds Kro", named after the king Erik Menved. In 1288 he issued the the town of Bogense municipal charter. The inn is an old half-timbered house that dates back to 1543 and is considered to be the oldest inn on Funen.
Back at the town hall square I can highly recommend that you end your adventures with a visit to the Museum of Northern Funen, which is located in the former railway station.
Cycling a total of about 15 km at a moderate pace.

Herning – Down Memory Lane in the Capital of Textile
"I have not tried this before, so I'm probably good at it" – could be Herning's motto but is a "Pippi" quote.
What makes Herning so special is its interest in both business and culture.
I grew up in Herning and that is how I know that practically nothing is impossible! The city was then, in the 60s, characterized by knitwear and textile factories and by entrepreneurship – which had a great impact on the cultural life in the form of many exciting initiatives, museums and architecture. Where else do you get a Uno-X gas station designed by Exner or a shirt factory decorated by the avant-garde artists of the time?
In this spirit I joined the new school for Textile and Clothing (TECO) – but eventually became a teacher in design, art and architecture.
The interests are lasting and I would very much like to share both my professional knowledge and my memories from Herning with you. The industrial history – and my story – are best told by visiting the Textile Museum and by strolling down memory lane.

Roskilde Cathedral – Denmark's Cradle
Roskilde Cathedral was originally built of wood by Harald Bluetooth around 980. The current building is from the 13th century. The church is the funeral church of the Danish kings and queens, although the tradition was only seriously cemented with Queen Margaret I, who died in 1412.
Probably right where the towers stand today, Harold Bluetooth's grandson, Canute the Great of England, Denmark and Norway, sat playing the fatal game of chess with Wolf Earl. According to legend, Wolf was killed in front of the alter the next day.
In 1450 Christian I built the Chapel of the Holy Three Kings and in the 1540s Christian IV had his chapel built on the north side. Frederik V's chapel was built in the late 18th century, and the Glückborg Chapel in the 1920s.
The guided tour is a time travel that begins with Harald Bluetooth's life and ends with today's Queen Margaret II, a fascinating marathon through the history of the church, the kings, and to a certain extent Denmark. There is so much breath of history that the experience will follow you for some time after.

A Hike in Syvårssøerne -The Seven Year Lakes – at Frederikshåb Plantation
Syvårssøerne, the Seven Year Lakes, at Frederikshåb Plantation is at moment one of Denmark's biggest natural attractions, as the water level in the mystical "Syvårssøerne" is very high, and numerous paths in the area are flooded. A hike here is an exciting experience.
I myself is very enthusiastic about this hike, where we walk around the big sand dunes in Randbøl moor. Here we will pass over the 17m high Stoltenberg. A sand dune shaped by the wind collecting sand on the otherwise flat and heather clad moorland. It is difficult here to believe that you are not in the big seaside dunes at the west coast by the North Sea.
The tour continues in Frederikshåb Plantation where we hike along the lakes Syvårssøerne. The "Seven Year Lakes" are not always here which is the mystical part as the lakes emerges and disappears in fluctuation with the groundwater level. For centuries it was noticed that they appeared around every seven years. The hike at Syvårssøerne is a hike you can do again and again every season of the year. No matter when you pass by, the nature is always beautiful – even in rain and clouded weather. If you bring kids along, the tour offers possibility for play time in the great sand dunes.
Besides the mystical and very beautiful nature, we will also encounter multiple historical sites from WW2 when Denmark was occupied by German forces and the German occupational forces used the area as a secret airfield. In the area there are among other things an airplane hiding spot, field kitchen, personal bunker fuel lines and a bunker for fuel.
A guided hike which is very exciting for kids as well as adults. -

Next to the Palace grounds is the Memorial Park and monument commemorating all Danes killed in the Great War 1914-18. Although Denmark stayed neutral in the First World War a large number of merchant sailors and some fishermen died at sea in addition to Danes who volunteered for the allied armies.
By far the majority of Danish war dead were from Southern Jutland, then part of Germany after Denmark lost the war of 1864 against Prussia and Austria. Some 4,100 people from this part of Denmark were killed from 1914-18. In 1920, as a result of Germany losing the Great War, Southern Jutland once again became part of Denmark.
Disability access
Provided you bring somebody strong to push your wheelchair there is access for the disabled on this guidet walk. Please be aware that the ground can be soft and wet in some areas.

Hike Along Stavis Stream
A hike along Stavis stream with start and finish at the same spot in Tarup, Odense. The trip is estimated to last 2 hours and 45 minutes.
It will be a nice and relaxed hike in a calm pace to ensure everyone can follow. The hike will primarily be on forest tracks, which can be muddy if it has recently rained or perhaps slippery in autumn once the trees have dropped all their leaves on the tracks.
The purpose of the trip is to learn about a local area which has a lot of history – both geologically as well as culturally.
On the trip I'll be talking about a local spring, the rare animals found in the stream, the birds that thrives in the area, as well as the Iron Age and how Iron Age people related to nature back then.

Contrasts in Copenhagen's South Harbour
Visit and experience an alternative and contrasting Copenhagen South Harbour by the water, on bicycle.
For many years, Copenhagen's South Harbour had the reputation of being Copenhagen's poorest worker neighbourhood, where alcoholics hang out on every street corner. In recent years, there has been a rapid development in the area which creates some exciting contrasts. The South Harbour has suddenly become an attractive place to live and visit.
On this bicycle tour we will visit both the old and authentic South Harbour, the alternative South Harbour with the various forms of housing, such as the houseboats, the allotment garden area, the marina and the newer areas by Sluseholm canal town and Teglholmen. We will also visit some of the area's green oases, including Sydhavnstippen, where we may be lucky to spot the cute sheeps or alpacas that live there.
As the South Harbour is a large area and I would like to give you the whole experience, the tour will be on bicycle. In fact, it is also the most local and Copenhagen way to get around in the city. We will meet at the bicycle rental place, Baisikeli Rent a bike, Ingerslevsgade 103, 1705 Copenhagen, right by Dybbølsbro's S-train station. Here we hop on the rented bicycles and start the tour. The tour takes a total of 4 hours, from the time we all get the bicycles and hit off, and there is a stop included on the route for a little refreshment.
Bike rentals from DKK 100.

Modern Art and Architecture in Birk by Herning
From the 1960s onwards, and thanks to, among others, the unorthodox and visionary shirt manufacturer Aage Damgaard and a visionary city council, art and world architecture education and business flourished in and around Herning.
Let's visit Birk, on the outskirts of Herning to look at and move in the landscape architect Carl Th. Sørensen's master plan for Birk Centerpark with the Angli shirt factory, the sculpture park, the Geometric Gardens, museums, schools and the landmark sculpture "Elia".
The circular sculpture park's 36 sculptures are predominantly made by Danish artists such as Robert Jacobsen, Svend Wiig Hansen and Sven Dalsgaard.
The similarly circular shirt factory Angli has a 220 meter long inner courtyard, decorated with ceramic tiles by Carl-Henning Pedersen. And another circular building and more Carl-Henning Pedersen, is the Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Ahlfelt Museum.
Opposite is HEART, which is an art museum – and of course the architecture looks like a folded shirt, as the museum was created to house the shirt manufacturer's art collection.
400 meters from HEART, Ingvar Cronhammer's "Elia" towers. The giant steel sculpture is 60 meters in diameter and 32 meters in height, Northern Europe's largest. Elia is equipped with 4 columns and a gas burner, "spitting out" huge flames at uneven intervals. The Geometric Gardens are landscape art with 8 meter high beech hedges built around a principle of "the complexity of simplicity". The gardens are both a harmonious structure and a labyrinthine experience.Jørgen Utzon (The Opera House in Sydney) has also built the most beautiful "sample" at an intended export and design school. And Henning Larsen's Design Studio is represented with the School of Business and Engineering from 1995.
Nature lovers can take one of the many hiking and cycling routes in Knudmosen.
